Robert Douglas – piano

Robert currently holds the position of Professor of Piano for HM Royal Marines School of Music.  He is the accompanist for all the performers, performance coach and also a leader on their music degree.  He has had the privilege to be the accompanist for many performance masterclasses including the violinists Tasmin Little, Jonathan Carney and the renowned French horn player Frank Wright.

His early performance training was under John Bingham at Trinity College and his performing career started with an award from the Worshipful Company of Musicians (London Purcell Room recital accompanist) and a premier CD recording of music for two and three pianos by Walter Leigh.  He now works mainly as an accompanist giving regular recitals in southern England, although recently gave a song recital at Troldhaugen, the famous recital hall at Grieg’s house.

Robert is also in high demand as a musical theatre MD and chorus trainer with his productions winning awards across the area.
