Originally from Southampton, Lucinda started playing the oboe at a young age and played in a number of local ensembles including Southampton Youth Orchestra and Southampton Wind Band. From there, Lucinda went on to study Music at the University of Surrey and Royal Holloway, University of London, specialising in performance with oboe teachers Stephen Forbes, Celia Nicklin and Sien Vallis-Davies. After completing a MMus she completed a PGCE and became an infant school teacher.
In 2003, she joined Hampshire Music Service and from there has developed a very busy but varied life teaching individuals, small groups and classes together with conducting. Lucinda also tries to find as much time as possible to play the oboe in a number of ensembles both chamber and orchestral including Southern Pro Musica, Havant Chamber Orchestra, Solent Symphony, Wessex Sinfonietta and the Anemos Wind Quintet.
